Just yesterday, Los Angeles High School was in an afternoon Lockdown around 1:40pm. A faculty member had received an anonymous call relaying information of a bomb being planted on school campus. Having all of the schools entrance closed. Students 9-12 remained in their classroom safe and unharmed. Released on time to go home. Was it real or a prank?
Right now, there are more than 300,000 pieces of debris larger than a centimeter in diameter orbiting Earth.
They range from tiny shards of metal to deactivated, decades-old satellites. Most are shrapnel from discarded rocket stages that have exploded after use, or satellites that have collided. Colloquially, all this debris is usually called "space junk."
Together, the Department of Defense and NASA track the orbits of the 19,000 or so pieces of junk that are larger than a softball, alerting satellite operators when any satellite — including the International Space Station — is in danger, so they can move it.

A series of four robberies and assaults that victimized Korean women in Koreatown-area apartment building elevators prompted Los Angeles police Tuesday to ask for help finding the man they believe is behind the attacks.Suspect is described as a Hispanic male 5 foot 6 to 5 foot eight, 20 to 30 years old, 130-170 pounds.
